San Pedro island resident, Andy Nuñez held an Artist Debut and Video Release Party over the weekend with aspirations of pursuing a music career. Under the artist name ‘Andrz’, he released his first single “De Rumba” which he performed at Losers Bar and Grill to friends and supporters who were eager to listen to his new song.
“As long as I can remember I wanted to sing; I wanted to make my own music but never felt confident enough to make the move for it,” commented Andrz to Ambergris Today. As he turned 32 this month he stated, “Birthdays are a new start, a fresh beginning and a time to pursue new endeavors with new goals. This birthday is extra special for me as I am preparing to embark on this much awaited, much strived for, much dream of journey. I have so many emotions racing through my body, but more than anything I feel so ready! Here is to a new year of risking taking, growth and success!”
Andrz says that he does not have an album in mind just yet but that he has more singles coming out. During his artist debut party he sang a sneak peek of a new single that is coming out early next year. His song ‘De Rumba’ was written in October 2020 and work in producing it commenced in early 2022. Andrz wrote the song and was produced by local company Redline Productions. The music video was shot in San Pedro by Belizean Director J Jason Badillo and was filled by Red Roll Films from Belize City.
What’s next for Andrz? “I hope to keep putting out good content to uplift the Latin genre in Belize and for my amazing supporters to enjoy. Also, I hope to perform for Belize’s top events and to get the opportunity to work with Belize’s top artist.”
