San Pedro police are investigating two separate deaths by falls this week involving men who fell to their deaths from buildings on the island. The first incident occurred on Saturday, April 26, 2025, when a 40-year-old Mexican national, Hever Badal Torres, died after falling from a construction site in San Pedro. Around 1:00 p.m., Torres was reportedly working on the roof with coworkers when he approached the northwestern section of the structure. A loud bang was heard moments later, and Torres was found unresponsive on the ground.

Preliminary findings suggest that a dent in the zinc roofing may have caused him to lose his footing. Emergency personnel attempted to revive Torres on the scene but were unsuccessful. His body has been transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.

The second incident occurred the following day early Sunday morning, April 27, 2025, at the Watermark Hotel. Authorities say 47-year-old Canadian businessman, Loran Dale Radchenko, was found dead behind the hotel around 8:20a.m. Radchenko, who resided at Alaia Resort, had checked into the hotel the night before. According to reports, surveillance footage later captured Radchenko falling from the third floor at approximately 7:53 a.m. Housekeeping staff discovered his body about half an hour later.

Initial investigations found no signs of struggle inside the room, though investigators noted the presence of empty beer bottles and unopened beers. Three individuals — Ruth Esthephani Poot, Justin Campos, and Miguel Campos, all residents of San Pedro — have been detained for questioning as the investigation continues.
