The San Pedro Town Council has expanded the Traffic Department’s fleet with the addition of 15 new motorcycles, thanks to the generous support of the island’s business community. The donations come as part of an ongoing effort to enhance traffic safety and efficiency across Ambergris Caye. With the older fleet showing signs of wear and tear, the new motorcycles will allow the department to deploy more wardens throughout the island to better manage traffic flow and enforcement.
Improvements to Traffic Department

The Traffic Department now operates a total of 20 motorcycles, marking a significant improvement in mobility and response capacity. In addition, three traffic wardens are currently attending a three-week training program on traffic enforcement through a partnership between the Ministry of Transportation and the Belize Police Department (BPD). This initiative represents another step forward in building a safer, more organized transportation system for San Pedro Town.
