Press Release, Hon. Andre Perez, Monday, February 2, 2026 – Hon. Andre Perez, Minister of Blue Economy and Marine Conservation and Area Representative of Belize Rural South, has announce to the community of Ambergris Caye, along with all stakeholders of the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, that parcels 5056, 5057, 5048, 5049, 5045, 5047, 5044, 17463, 17464, 17465, and 17466, located south of Ambergris Caye (Boca Ciega Area/ Siete Canales), have officially been issued land titles in the name of Hol Chan Marine Reserve.
This significant milestone strengthens the long-term protection and stewardship of one of Belize’s most treasured marine environments. Securing these titles ensures that the areas in question remain safeguarded for conservation, sustainable management, and the benefit of future generations.
Hon. Perez expresses his sincere appreciation to the Government of Belize, through the Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Cordel Hyde, and the Ministry of Natural Resources. Their commitment to environmental protection made this possible.
