Special Delivery from Infant 2 Students

Back to School time has launched many new skills and activities, including letter-writing. The Infant 2 Class from The Island Academy had a busy time at the San Pedro Post Office on Friday afternoon, October 21st.  They brought letters composed in proper form to culminate the First Term of the Language Arts curriculum with Teacher Lisa Anderson.

Letters were legibly addressed to relatives and friends in destinations ranging from across San Pedro Town, to Corozal Town, to the U.S.A. and Canada, to England!  Patient Postman Mr. Porfolio weighed each envelope and gave each student beautiful Belize stamps.  Stamps feature natural features in Belize, including flowers and The Blue Hole diving area.  Students asked, “How do the letters get there?” and “How many letters are mailed each month?”  Postman Porfilio explained that they send most mail via Tropic Air Cargo and they will probably count letters one month within the high season. Special delivery!
