Happy Township Day San Pedro! WOW! We have come a long way from the very small fishing village that everybody fell in love in the first place. Today, November 27, 2014, marks the 30th Anniversary of Township for San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize. This picture takes us back to 1984 when San Pedro just received its township status.
You can see Jenny’s Store, belonging to the Salazar family on Front Street (across Fido’s) welcoming township and celebrating along with the newly town residents. Pictured below is a present day view of the same street – WOW! We will be calling ourselves citizens of San Pedro City pretty soon.
But we believe that San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, still holds on to its island charm. It’s a mixture of old village life combined with a much more modern tourist destination feel.
Still holding on to the title of #1 Island in the World, we congratulate San Pedro and its residents for all their hard work and dedication into making our beautiful town such an amazing place to live in. Happy Township Day.
