San Pedro’s Miracle Baby celebrated his first birthday on November 27, 2010.
At the tender age of seven months, Baby Daniel Estell, son of Ilda Guerrero and Daniel Estell, was in desperate need of a liver transplant. He was first treated at the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles for his liver disease called Biliary Artesia. This diseas is the blockage in the tubes (ducts) that carry liquid bile from the liver to the gallbladder.
Baby Daniel Estell successfully received a liver transplant from his father at the beginning of August 2010. This was made possible by the hundreds (possibly thousands) of people who donated money to make this transplant possible. Born in Belize, Daniel spent some time at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles before being flown to Columbia where the life saving transplant was performed.
Happy Birthday Baby Daniel, may you live to see many more! Best wishes from the entire community of San Pedro!
