Isla Bonita All Star Marching Band Pig Out Band Fest

This past Sunday, February 17, was another very successful fund raising project for the Isla Bonita All Star marching Band and Majorettes. The event was organized by the very energetic committee member Ms. Eve assisted by Isla Bonita Band Committee and hosted by our most generous friend Wayo from Wayo’s. Friends and patrons who showed up at Wayo’s enjoyed a delectable lunch/dinner of pig roast with all it trimming while Wayo served any drink you could name and offered one dollar per drink/beer for the All Stars. Yes, they all enjoyed the music of the marching band and majorettes as they prepare for their trip to Belmopan to participate in the Governor General’s Annual Marching Band Fest.

And just in case someone would get bored, folks were kept awake by Eve and committee who offered Chinese Auction Sales as well as the now famous Silent Auction Sale, hosted by Jan Brown and Joe Chung. Tons of entertainment kept the very jubilant crowd on their toes with the participation of Vic Helewn impersonator, singer Mike and Gary with popular County and Western Music.

It was beach action at Wayo’s like every good Sunday, but this time around there was the spirit of helping out these fabulous musicians and dancers and for this we have to thank Petie Palaza, Linda Miller, Jessica Salo, MC Joe Chong, Wayo and Dee for hosting and bar donations, Krista and Eric Agromonto (pig donation and raffles/silent auction), Jodie and Scott Harnish (Scott Pulled Pork Chef).

In the end we all celebrated a successful Pig Out Band Fest and even more so Mr. Randy Lewis who came forward with a donation of all the transportation of the marching band all the way to Belmopan which includes a Water Taxi Charter and a chartered bus.

Ambergris Today was there to cover the event and salutes the marching band boys and girls, the administration committee, Eve and Committee, Wayo’s and Staff, all the volunteers working behind the scenes, patrons and friends. San Pedro is proud of all of you with the same pride that the Isla Bonita All Stars Marching Band will represent San Pedro in Belmopan.
