Celebrating a great milestone in the town of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize last week was Castillo’s Hardware that his the BIG 15th Anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Alfonso Castillo could not think of anything better than to celebrate along with the community that they hold dear at heart. They decided to give away $15,000 to their loyal costumers.
So Castillo’s Hardware held a raffle and gave away 15 $1,000 prizes to 15 lucky winners.
“Today marks a great accomplishment in the operation of our store,” commented Mr. Castillo on raffle day Friday, February 19, 2015. “We feel very blessed and privileged to have been able to open our doors to serve the community of San Pedro 15 years ago, on February 19, 2000.”
Below is Mr. Alfonso Castillo’s speech he delivered during the raffle and anniversary celebrations.
“It seems like just yesterday Ms. Miriam and I, along with one other worker opened our hardware store downstairs at the present Social Security building. We started out with 2,500 sq ft and a hired delivery truck and driver. Today we have 8,500 sq ft when we relocated here in August 2002. We have 15 dedicated staff members, some of whom are serving for over 10 years.
Like with any new undertakings in life, we had our fair share of obstacles and setbacks, but with commitment and hard work we have persevered. In 2002 we became a member of the Do It Best Corp, a member owned corporation with their headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Today is a proven hallmark of our Do It Best motto: To make the best even better and to serve others as we would like to be served. Castillo’s has strived and will continue to do so, to provide the best value for all your construction needs, electrical, paints, plumbing and household appliances.
Castillo’s Hardware, without a doubt, has made its mark in our community. Over the years we have contributed tremendously in different developmental areas, to numerous non-profit organizations, and helping individual families in illnesses and disaster victims. All can attest to our yearly participation in sponsorship for the September celebrations – thus far, we can boast four winning beauty queens under our sponsorhip.
Forever thankful to our customers, we have shown our appreciation and gratitude to them by giving back through anniversary and Christmas raffles. Hence, we are here once again to do just this by our grand 15th anniversary raffle today – 15 – $1,000 for a total of $15,000.
