Who does not know what Facebook is these days, really? If you do not have a Facebook account you have friends who keep you updated with what is going. But these days it’s hard to think of a teenager not being on Facebook.
As of July 2011, Facebook has more than 800 million active users; it is the most used social networking service by worldwide monthly active users. The site on its end-of-the-decade “best-of” list, says: “How on earth did we stalk our exes, remember our co-workers’ birthdays, bug our friends, and play a rousing game of Scrabulous before Facebook?”
Facebook is used by teens all over the world! This week I asked to my fellow teens “What do you like about Facebook? And what makes it so interesting?” Here is what some had to say:
Carlos – I like Facebook because it relaxes me from my problems!
Kevin – Who doesn’t have a Facebook? Or at least heard about Facebook? It is just another social network that has been invented but it has so far been the most popular networked used; it’s all about technology. The twist about this network is that it’s no longer used just for knowing about your friends but it is actually the most used site for communication now a day. Hand in hand with the emails. Sadly Facebook is so important that if it were to shut down it would cause a destabilization in the world; that’s how strong and important Facebook has become. Why is Facebook that interesting? What do they see in Facebook? Facebook to me is just a way to find and gossip about other people. If you want to know about someone all u need to do is add him/her as a friend on Facebook and you will know all you need to know. The main propose of the site was to keep in contact with friends and now it is a site to keep in contact all over the world. It’s so funny how Facebook has been changing and the latest version allows you to see exactly everything what a person has said about someone or when some “likes” something. They have made it the best way for people to follow what someone is doing so that they don’t get bored of Facebook!
Shaquille – Well you can meet new friends and interact with people. You find old friends and reunite with them again!
Samuel – It is an easy way to socialize with people. What makes it interesting is that you can communicate without being seen!
Jonathan – I like Facebook because it makes you socialize with friends and communicate with them! Great way of communication! But it has some advantages and some disadvantages.
Sergio – I can keep in touch with friends; it’s easier and better than other programs and there is a lot of things to do on Facebook.
