YOU KNOW YOU ARE AN OLD TIMER SANPEDRANO IF
you don’t mind rolling up your pants half way up your calves. The old timers used to wear long pants only and it was often necessary for them to roll up their pants and get into the sea to do some chore or the other. While their feet and legs dried up, they kept their pants rolled up; eventually rolling up the pants became a habit and a custom. It was normal to see men walking about even in the evenings with their pants rolled up.
And you know you are a modern Sanpedrano if
…..you are wearing these short pants but the leg part is so long it reaches way past down your knees. These baggy pants are not short pants because the legs are too long and they are not long pants because the legs are way too short.
YOU KNOW YOU ARE AN OLD TIMER SANPEDRANO IF
every time you take a photo you strike a pose putting your right hand or left hand or both on your waist.
And you know you are a modern Sanpedrano if
…..you strike a pose by tilting your head and do not look straight at the camera.
YOU KNOW YOU ARE AN OLD TIMER SANPEDRANO IF
you don’t mind wearing your T-shirt for a long time even if it is full of holes.
And you know you are a modern Sanpedrano if
…..you wear fancy T-shirts and as soon as it is faded or a bit stretched, you discard it for a new one.
YOU KNOW YOU ARE AN OLD TIMER SANPEDRANO IF
Your favorite Sunday food was corned beef. Fish used to be your regular food six days a week and on Sundays it was corned beef, and it was considered very special.
And you know you are a modern Sanpedrano if
…..you probably have not even tasted corned beef and if you do eat it, you do so once in a blue moon.
YOU KNOW YOU ARE AN OLD TIMER SANPEDRANO IF
Your skin is tough especially the palms of your hands and your feet. The palm of your hand is so tough that it feels no pain! Really!
And you know you are a modern Sanpedrano if
…..you wash dishes and get an instant rash! You have to use gloves and special liquid soap to do the dishes.
YOU KNOW YOU ARE AN OLD TIMER SANPEDRANO IF
You still wash your cloths on a washing board. You think that washing your clothes on a machine will spoil your clothes and will not get them clean.
And you know you are a modern Sanpedrano if
…..you wash your clothes on a washing machine because it is faster, less work and at the end you just pop it into the dryer and your work is done!
So folks, are you beginning to figure out whether you are an old timer or a modern Sanpedrano (a)?
