Hollywood actor David Morse allows his picture taken with local resident Mustapha Harmouch on August 11, 2023. Morse is on Ambergris Caye as part of the cast of the movie Blood Knot that is being partly filmed in Belize, including the islands of Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker.
“Blood Knot” stars Michael Douglas and his son Cameron Douglas. Belize and Mexico are apparently stand-ins for Puerto Rico, where the movie is being based on. Cameron Douglas has been spotted on Ambergris Caye as filming took place at the popular eatery Estel’s Dine by the Sea, but there have been no sightings of Michael Douglas. Word is that he will not be filming scenes on the island.
Residents of Ambergris Caye were given little notice by the San Pedro Town Council about the closure of certain streets to accommodate filming of the movie, but the sight of the film crew, movie gear and actors were very much welcomed. It was exciting to see a little of Hollywood magic in La Isla Bonita.
