There is no doubt that internet sensation DJ Osocity has fallen in love with Belize. He has been so inspired by our country, people and culture that he recorded his first every Osocity Punta Mix to add to his collection of music and videos that he posts from around the world. Here is what he had to say on his YouTube channel about his new Best of Punta 2023:
“Mi Gente, Bienvenido to the first ever OSOCITY PUNTA MIX! I’ve always wanted to create this mix for all of your and I’m so happy that its finally here. Punta is an Afro-indigenous dance and cultural music originated by The Garifuna people. It has African and Arawak elements which are also the characteristics of the Garifuna language.
I’m so blessed to have filmed my First ever Punta Mix in Beautiful The San Pedro Belize Barrier Reef! The Barrier Reef Reserve System lies about half a mile off the windward side of the island. It is the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere and the second longest in the world. Its some of the most crystal clear blue water I have never seen in my life! I absolutely Love The Jewel; You Better Belize It!”
