The Library’s October children’s programs is over, and the library is festive with decorations of handmade owls and bats and animals of Belize.
Each FRIDAY in November from 1:45 to 2:30 our Library will create more Fall Fun for children ages 5 to 7. We’ll be reading books about the fish in our ocean, our cultural and environmental relationship to the ocean, and we’ll create a related craft.
*Weeks One and Two we’ll read about the Rainbow Fish, and make our own colorful rainbow fish.
*Week Three we’ll read about Settlement Day and the Garifuna people who came here, many of whom were fishermen. We’ll create hand colored life-size fish, stuff them and hang them as mobiles in the library.
*Week Four we’ll honor Saints Andrew, whose feast Day is November 30, and Peter, patron saint of fishermen, by reading fish stories. We’ll make paper fish to decorate the library.
Drop by the Library to see the beautiful decorations the children have made and check out your own Fall Fun books!
