Six beautiful young ladies have taken on the challenge to participate in this year’s Miss San Pedro Pageant; they are Genny Rhaburn, Lila Gonzalez, Ivy Alamilla, Mishelby Leiva, Gelie Nuñez and Natasha Stewart.
These lovely contestants have begun training and had their official photo shoot this past weekend at one of San Pedro’s top resorts – Victoria House and photos were taken by Maya and Colette of Conch Creative.
This weekend the contestants will be travelling to Chetumal, Mexico and will be hosted by officials of Othon P. Blanco for a fun-filled weekend. The girls will also be engaged in tours to Hol Chan Marine Reserve, neighboring island Caye Caulker, the rainforest/Maya Ruins, visiting Old Belize and attending the Taste of Belize – Culinary Event in Belize City. They also have luncheons and dinners at restaurants on the island and appearance on Reef Radio’s Morning Show prior to pageant night.
Pageant night is set for Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Old Football Field and pageant organizers promise a spectacular show under the theme “Enchanting & Magical – Our Belizean Barrier Reef”. The pageant will consist of costume competition (depicting different sea creatures), swimwear, evening wear and the question and answer segment.
This year the lucky winner will not only be taking the coveted prize of being San Pedro’s beauty ambassador she will also be receiving cash prize of $3,000 cash from the San Pedro Town Council along with many other great prizes totaling to a grand total of $5,000. All other contestants will be getting great consolation prizes as well.
Food and drinks galore, and a great after party will be held in honor of the new beauty queen. So come on out on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Old Football Field and support your favorite contestant. Interview with the contestants will be posted on next week’s edition of Ambergris Today.
