Celebrity Soccer Player Honeymoons in San Pedro

It seems like a variety of celebrities are discovering Belize, from singers to actors and athletes. This past week the Toronto F.C. Roster Jim Brennan escaped to Belize to honeymoon with his lovely wife Jennifer Brennan.

The newlyweds stayed at the luxurious Belize Legacy Resort on North Ambergris Caye for two weeks where they enjoyed the tranquility and romantic view of the Caribbean Sea. They enjoyed kayaking, sunbathing and were very well attended to by the friendly Belize Legacy staff.

Jim and Jennifer got married on January 16 and found out about Belize on the Internet and they are in love with Belize. “We love the culture and the people and are looking into buying property here,” they said.

Jim also said he would like to start a football club for kids on the island and jokingly said he could coach the Belize Team. Jim and Jennifer are very friendly and we hope to see them back on our exotic paradise. We wish the special couple joy and happiness as they anticipate their life together as husband and wife.

Brennan, 6-foot, 185 pounds, is a native of Newmarket, Ontario, and has been a member of the Canadian National Team since 1999. He has competed in 43 international contests for Canada (second among active players in the organization), totaling six goals. He scored the first goal (and eventual winner) and converted a second goal in a 2-0 win against Austria on March 1.

Brennan, 30, plays with Toronto FC after 10 seasons in England. He played for Southampton in 2006. He spent 2003-06 with Norwich City and the 1999-2003 campaigns with Nottingham Forest. He was loaned to Huddersfield Town for five months in 2001. He began his career overseas with Bristol City in 1996, playing with that club until joining Nottingham Forest. His transfer from Bristol City to Nottingham Forest completed the largest transfer fee paid for a Canadian player at 1.25 million pounds.
