Job Finder Labor Dept. helps you find employment

Many employers and employees only contact the Labor Department for complaints when someone is fired or to know how much one is supposed to be paid when fired and other complaints of such. But little does the public know that you can also contact the labor department for job opportunities.

Employment Officer/Inspector, Denise Spain, informed Ambergris Today that she contacts most businesses on the island and almost every week she has a list of job vacancies. “If anyone is in need of a job they can visit our office during our normal working hours and I can help them get a job,” commented Denise.

The Labor Department will be posting a list of vacancies in this newspaper as they become available. Anyone wishing to obtain information on the Labor Laws of Belize or job vacancies can contact Ms. Denise Spain, Employment Officer/Inspector or Mr. Aniki Palacio, Labor Officer at the Island Gallery located at the corner of Coconut Drive and Tarpon Street. Opening hours are 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays. Phone Number 226-2700.
