Holiday Boat Parade Brings in Christmas Spirit

It might have been the state of the economy with the recession affecting our tourism season, but even thought there were only eight entries at this year’s Holiday Boat Parade, San Pedro residents came out in masses and tourists were out enjoying the Fifth Annual Holiday Boat Parade that took place on Saturday, December 4, 2010.

It was another fantastic and successful year for the Holiday Boat Parade as the lighted boats cruised in front of San Pedro Town from Boca del Rio to Caribbean Villas. The parade started at 7pm and judges Mayor Elsa Paz, Einer Gomez, Miss San Pedro Natasha Stuart, Diane Lawrence, and Will Alamilla had the difficult task of assigning the winners.

With four entries of the parade canceling at the last minute, things seemed grim for the Holiday Boat Parade this year. But once the eight boats were out at sea it was clear that San Pedro was still in the Holiday spirit. Lights twinkling, music blazing and constant cheering and screaming signaled the coming of the Christmas Holiday season for San Pedro. It was a great show of lights and holiday spirit once again.
