“WOW, that plane is HUGE!!” – comments like this were heard all over town this weekend as a C-130 Hercules (A four engine military aircraft) was spotted flying extremely low off the coast of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. The aircraft was flying several dozen feet of the ground and had no identification marks.
Some say that the C-130 aircraft was also seen at the International Airport and flying by South Water Caye. The C-130 Hercules was originally designed as a troop, medical evacuation and cargo transport aircraft. Its original primary customer for over 50 years has been The United States Air Force.
The C-130 Hercules definetely caught the attention of many residents as if flew by at a low altitude just above our heads. Much thanks to Mr. Elbert Greer for having captured the photo we have re-posted and to Jo3design for the video he captured of the aircraft flying by the coast of San Pedro.
