Three great athletes from San Pedro High were part of a Belizean Contingency that represented Belize in the XVI Central American Junior Scholastic Games (CODICADER Games) in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Gian Rivero, Brandon Santos and Franklin Aranda of San Pedro High School were a part of a 214-member team that represented Belize in the sporting event. Gian Rivero participated in the discus throw, Brandon Santos in the 100 and 400 meter run and Franklin Aranda in the triple jump.
The regional games were played in the capital San Salvador from September 3 to 14. Although our boys did not place we would like to congratulate them for a job well done. Belize is proud that the Nazarene High School Softball Girls Team won silver medal, Sadie Vernon Technical High School Boys Basketball Team won silver medal, Jervis Myvette of Edward P. York won two gold medals in 100m and 200m races and Gloria Serano of Palotti High School won silver medal in shot-put.
Coaches of the Belize Team had the opportunity to meet with Mrs. Celi Paz Gonzalez, Ambassador of Belize to El Salvador and she also had the opportunity to meet with the male and female basketball teams.
Congratulations to Gian, Brandon, Franklin and the entire Belizean Team for representing us proudly at the XVI Central American Junior Scholastic Games in San Salvador.
