Saturday, January 28, 2012 was a night of fashion and models at the San Pedro Fitness Club for Mama Vilma’s Family Home’s second annual Fashion Show. It was a very well attended event that got support and participation from island businesses who want to see the family home up and running very soon.
The show started with a warm welcome by the Mama Vilma’s Home organizers moving on to the host of the night Ambergris Today’s and Wave Music’s V.J., Gerry Badillo. Soon after Gerry started introducing all models to come out to strut their stuff down the runway; the crowd cheered with joy.
The models showcased clothing in three different segments: beach wear, casual wear and evening wear from island boutiques such as Top Notch, Love Belize, Sarai’s Boutique, Mambo Chill, Island Gear, Marlin’s Boutique, Caribe Clothing and 4:20 Men’s Clothing. Models included our very own Miss San Pedro Yakarelis Hernandez, Miss Lions Shantelle Pascacio and Mr. Jade World Belize Alexander Valencia and many more local models.
The show came to a close with all the models walking one last round together around the pool area and the attendants were then invited to enjoy the rest of the evening filled with plenty of food and entertainment. Food was kindly donated by Chappe, Carolyn Kumar, Dave and Renae, Gunther and Anna, Mercie Trejo, Shelly Huber, Terressa Moore, Susana Janowitz, Renita and Cindy – Changes in Latitudes, Pepperoni’s Pizza and Susanna Eiley – El Fogon. All guests enjoyed and danced the night away with the sounds of Pineapple Willy and Heat.

To honor Mama Vilma and continue her passion to care for others, the Mama Vilma’s Family Home organization is opening a home in San Pedro’s community. It will be a safe place where all services needed to help a family…food, clothing, shelter, counseling, medical services and education will be provided in a caring and compassionate way.
