Taxi Man Succumbs To Head Injury

San Pedro Police is investigating the death of a taxi driver which occurred this past Sunday, February 5, 2012. According to police investigations, 46-year-old Manuel Marroquin, Belizean taxi driver of Escalante Subdivision was socializing with friends at a mechanic shop in the Escalante Subdivision on Friday, February 3, 2012, when he fell and hit his head.

Marroquin was under the influence of alcohol and got up to urinate when he lost his balance, fell and a hit his head on an iron metal causing a wound to his head. Marroquin was transported to the Dr. Otto Rodriguez Poly Clinic where he received medical attention and was later released.

On Saturday, February 4, 2012, Marroquin was taken to Belize City for further medical attention for the wound he had received to the head and on Sunday, February 5, 2012 he succumbed to his injuries. San Pedro Police is still investigating the matter and persons will be detained for questioning.
