The San Pedro Cancer Society, its membership and its volunteers would like to inform the general public and especially its benefactors (who helped us with this year’s blood drive and food sale) of our successes and profits made out our event on Saturday, February 11, 2012.
In regards to the Blood Drive, we attained 12 units of Blood from volunteer donors. These are not only credited for our cancer patients, but also for any member of the San Pedro Community who may need it in any case of emergency. This effort was possible only through our members, blood volunteers, Tropic Air for providing transportation, San Carlos Medical Center (Dr. Giovanni Solorzano) for the venue and The Palms for accommodating blood bank personnel. Wholeheartedly, we thank you!
Our food sale was also a success. This effort was made possible only through our volunteer members, food donors (who are too numerous to mention) and the community who supported this worthy cause. Our menu; baked chicken, mashed potatoes, sweet corn and bread rolls sold at $6.00 a plate and generated a profit of $642.75.
On behalf of the San Pedro Cancer Society, we thank the entire community of San Pedro. We thank them for being unique, generous and supportive in facilitating our long battle against cancer. Remember, prevention is the best cure!
