Our lovely island of San Pedro now counts with an active Belize Red Cross group. The local branch of the Belize Red Cross elected its Board of Directors on March 14, 2013, under the presence of the Director General of the Belize Red Cross, Lily Bowman.
Taking the reigns of the Belize Red Cross San Pedro Branch is Mr. Eiden Salazar who was elected as the Chairperson. His board of directors include Anthony Anderson as Vice-Chairperson, Carolyn Human – Treasurer, Phillip Ramsey – Secretary, Swuine Diego – Youth representative and Sandro Cob, Frank Panton and Cheryl Bowen as ordinary members.
With the establishment of the San Pedro branch, this marks seven branches around the country of Belize. Director Lily Bowman went over the constitution of the Belize Red Cross and explained the various roles and responsibilities of the group. She was very pleased to say that she sees a lot of potential in the group and is sure that the group will be a very active one in the community.
