Iris Salguero once again makes San Pedro proud by winning the title of Miss World Belize 2016-2017. Many gathered at the Log Cabin Inn on Saturday, October 22, 2016, to witness this event. A total of 4 contestants graced the stage with their beauty; Iris won Miss Top Model, Miss Eloquent, and the title of Miss World Belize.
Iris leaves the country on November 27, 2016 to represent Belize on the Miss World stage in Washington, D.C. USA on December 18th, 2016. She will compete in fast track categories that include World Beach Beauty, Beauty with a Purpose, Sports Challenge, Talent and Top Model. The winner of these events automatically make it into the semifinals of Miss World.
Beauty with a Purpose, formerly known as Miss World Scholarship, is an event established in 2001 that is celebrated during the activities prior to the Miss World pageant. It awards the contestant with the most relevant and important charity project in her nation.
