The Elections and Boundaries Department is pleased to inform the public that the 2018 Re-registration of Electors Exercise continues to proceed on target. A Preliminary Report on the exercise is hereby provided as follows for the period 2nd to 7th July 2018:
Registration Centers were opened to the public effective 2nd July 2018 in all thirty-one (31) electoral divisions countrywide to facilitate the acceptance of applications for the registration of electors. Political parties’ scrutineers were present at most of these centers to observe the registration process. During the period, a total of sixteen thousand, six hundred and seventy (16,670) applications have been accepted. The Department assures the public that all efforts are being made to address the concerns regarding the re-registration process with the aim of making it more efficient and effective in the service delivery.
All qualified persons are therefore being encouraged to participate in the exercise, especially at this time where additional Registration Centers are open to facilitate the process.
