On Tuesday, November 15, 2023, Tropic Air commenced non-stop, twice weekly, service between the Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City and Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport (SAP) in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. San Pedro Sula becomes Tropic’s second destination in Honduras, in addition to Roatán, and the 12th overall in its network.
“It is a proud and exciting day for us. San Pedro Sula is our second new international destination this year, along with San Salvador. We are proud of our regional growth and we intend to add frequencies and perhaps more markets in the coming year”, said John Greif III, President of Tropic Air.
“This is another milestone for Belize’s regional tourism, business, travel and cargo industry” said Steve Schulte, CEO.“The introduction of this service is a goal we have long been working towards and we are thrilled that our efforts have borne fruit. In a highly competitive arena, it is essential to have direct year-round scheduled regional service and the easy connections to major markets that it brings,” he added.
Present for the inaugural ceremony at the Philip Goldson International Airport was Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Hon. Anthony Mahler. In his remarks he shared, “Connectivity is the lifeline of the air transportation industry. We are proud to see that Tropic Air, a pioneer and leader in the industry, continues to grow and expand their offerings. As the airline expands its international routes, it also poises Belize’s tourism industry for further growth.”
