– Press Release, Ambergris Caye, Belize – Margaritaville Beach Resort in Belize announced its participation in the inaugural Jimmy Buffett Day of Service. This annual event, introduced by Margaritaville International, honors the legacy of our founder, Jimmy Buffett, by dedicating August 30th to giving back to the community and environment. The Belize property celebrated this initiative on Friday, August 30th, with a beach cleanup effort. Properties all over the world contributed with their own initiatives on this same day.
The cleanup covered one mile north and one mile south of our resort on Ambergris Caye and is a collaboration with the San Pedro Town Council and Oceana, reflecting our commitment to preserving the natural beauty of Belize’s coastline.
We were honored to have Destiny Wagner, Miss Earth Belize 2021, joining us in this effort. Her presence will help highlight the importance of environmental conservation and inspire community participation.
Margaritaville’s Dedication to Sustainability
“At Margaritaville, cleaning our beaches isn’t just about preserving our coastlines —it’s about protecting marine life, ensuring clean sands for future generations, and maintaining the health of our planet. Every bit of effort counts in this vital endeavor.” said Shawn Marshall, General Manager at Margaritaville Beach Resort, Belize. “This event reflects our dedication to sustainability and community engagement, values that are at the heart of Margaritaville.”
Guests, locals, and community members were invited to join us in this meaningful day of service. Together, we can honor Jimmy Buffett’s legacy and contribute to a cleaner, more beautiful Belize.
