San Pedro has a new beauty ambassador! Elizabeth Grace Sánchez was crowned Miss San Pedro 2026 following a colorful and exciting pageant held on Saturday night, August 29, at the Hon. Louis Sylvestre Sporting Arena.
This year’s pageant was celebrated under the vibrant theme “¡Que Viva el Carnaval!”, bringing plenty of color, music, culture, and carnival energy to one of San Pedro’s most anticipated events of the year.
Elizabeth competed alongside three lovely young women, Samantha Ayala, Kami Valencio, and Bessy Gonzalez, who each brought their own personality, confidence, and charm to the stage. Throughout their pageant journey, the four delegates worked hard preparing for the big night, and it showed. Each of them put their heart into the competition, making it a wonderful evening that celebrated not only beauty, but also confidence and the personalities of these young women.
The delegates were judged through several segments, including cultural costume, swimsuit, evening gown, and the much-anticipated question-and-answer segment. Each portion of the competition allowed them to showcase a different side of themselves, from their stage presence and elegance to their ability to confidently express their thoughts before the audience and judges.

At the end of the evening, Elizabeth Grace Sánchez impressed the judges and earned the coveted title of Miss San Pedro 2026, becoming our island’s newest beauty ambassador; Bessy Gonzalez took first runner up. Two additional awards recognized other standout contestants. Bessy Gonzalez received the Miss Photogenic award, while Kami Valencio was selected as Miss Congeniality, an award that reflects the friendship and positive spirit shared among the contestants.
Adding to the festive atmosphere was international entertainment by Grupo Crash from El Salvador, along with performances by the talented San Pedro R.C. School Dance Group. DJ Johnny kept the music and energy flowing throughout the evening.
The Miss San Pedro Pageant continues a tradition spanning generations on Ambergris Caye and remains one of the most anticipated social and cultural events on the island. The four contestants had officially begun their pageant journey earlier this month, participating in activities and appearances leading up to Saturday’s grand event.
Congratulations to Elizabeth Grace Sánchez, Miss San Pedro 2026! We wish her an amazing year as she takes on the responsibility of representing our beautiful island and its people. And congratulations as well to Samantha, Kami, and Bessy. Stepping onto that stage takes courage and dedication, and all four young women gave San Pedro something to be proud of.
¡Que viva el Carnaval, and long live Miss San Pedro!
