Construction of the new Publics Supermarket building on Coconut Drive is bringing more than grocery shopping to the area south of downtown San Pedro. The development, adjacent to the existing Publics Supermarket, is being promoted as a mixed-use complex with commercial rental spaces and residential apartments.
A recent Facebook rental announcement offers a glimpse of what is planned for the property, located near the Water Taxi Terminal and across from Isla Bonita Yacht Club. The advertised lineup includes Publics Supermarket, Sbarro, Sarita’s, DHL and a UNO fueling station. A listing by Vista Real Estate also identifies these businesses as planned anchors for the complex.
Plans include an elevator, a separate commercial lift and on-site golf cart parking, with residential apartments on Level 3 above the commercial spaces. Available units are being marketed for shops, salons, service centers and professional offices.
One advertised option is Unit 7 on Level 2, positioned immediately off the elevator and stairwell. Listed at approximately 480 square feet, the space is offered at US$1,200 per month. According to the announcement, other unit sizes are available and can be adjusted to suit tenants’ needs.
The project would bring a broader mix of shopping, dining, services and housing to this section of Coconut Drive. The complex is expected to be completed in February 2027 but they are signing lease agreements for the units on a first come first serve basis.
