San Pedro Supports Poppy Appeal Fundraising Dinner

Everybody on the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize knows that Jamila Janmohamed is at the heart of fundraising efforts for the Poppy Appeal. She has managed to significantly increase the amount of money donated towards the cause every year.

Over the weekend Jamila once again hosted a fundraising dinner at El Fogon restaurant that included a four-course Indian dinner which its proceeds all went towards the Poppy Appeal.

Her guests enjoyed a fantastic dinner that included a vegetable samosa, a spicy lentil soup (Daal), Beef Rogan Josh with Aloo Gabi and Pilau Rice and a Mango Kulfi. She is a master in the kitchen and her friends and supporters did not think twice to sign up for the dinner.

For her outstanding efforts, dedication and heart, Jamila Janmohamed was honored earlier this year with an award by the Royal British Legion of Belize, which she is a member of, at a special function held at the Flagstaff Mess.

The Poppy Appeal fundraising efforts run until November when Remembrance Day (remembering Belizean and Commonwealth veterans, their families and fallen soldiers) is observed. Anyone wishing to donate for the cause can contact Jamila at email: hatari@btl.net
