Pic of the Week – Sanpedrano Flag Bearer at London’s Commonwealth Celebrations

Belize along with 52 other Commonwealth Countries celebrated Commonwealth Day on Monday, March 11, 2019, replacing the former Empire Day, often held on the second Monday in March.

Proudly carrying the Belize flag was Sanpedrano, Einer Gomez Jr., son of Einer and Marivel Gomez. Gomez was one of the many that joined Queen Elizabeth II in a Westminster Abbey service to mark Commonwealth Day.

The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also attended the largest annual inter-faith gathering in the United Kingdom to celebrate the history and values binding the 53 Commonwealth countries.
