The San Pedro, Central Park Christmas Tree was officially lit on Saturday, December 5, 2015, in a short ceremony conducted by Mayor Daniel Guerrero to kick in the holiday season on Ambergris Caye, Belize.
Santa Claus and Miss San Pedro Iris Salguero and Hon. Manuel Heredia, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation joined in on the celebrations as Mayor Danny gave the word for the tree to be lit. Hundreds of pictures were taken with Santa and dance numbers were presented by students of Isla Bonita Elementary School.
Central Park was filled with color, music and joy as the San Pedro Town Council distributed cupcakes and soft drinks to all the children present. The Christmas Tree is a gift to San Pedro Town by Lady Dixie Bowen and Family and is assembled by her team of employees.
